The Challenge
Acoustic Panels Australia provides a wide variety of products and custom solutions for clients. We were approached by one of our long-term fit-out clients for a project at Vic Uni. They needed assistance with two main aspects: curved wall plates and custom floor plates for a big boardroom.
The Solution
For the curved wall plates, which comprised 80% of the walls in the project, we manufactured the floor plates to ensure that the stud walls could be built with perfect curves. Additionally, the boardroom required custom Tasmanian oak floor plates and Beams for glass that resembled window frames.
This project was complex due to the curved floor plates and the intricate chamfers on the uprights, which measured 240mm x 42mm and needed to fit around the curved sections. We started by creating CAD designs and making templates with the curved sections engraved into them. These templates were sent to the site for layout confirmation. Once everything was confirmed, we began the manufacturing process. The boardroom itself was over 10 meters in length and 6 meters in width.
The Outcome
The final installation successfully addressed the client’s needs, providing precisely curved wall and floor plates and enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the boardroom with custom Tasmanian oak features. Our thorough planning and precise execution ensured that the intricate sections fit perfectly, resulting in a high-quality finish.
